Road Trip to a Wedding

This past weekend my best friends and I road tripped to our friend Lizzy's beautiful wedding in San Marcos. We had such a great time traveling to the wedding! We blasted John Mayer, NSYNC, Spice Girls, Whitney Houston and oh so much more! The first half of the road trip was kicked off to a great start when we spotted the STARSHIP PEGASUS!!! What is a road trip without crazy roadside attractions?

Creepily enough, this place had a sign that said "private residence"....umm yeah. I guess they wanted to decorate with this lovely monkey flower pot...

The nerds are attacking!!!

Leilani and Sarah come in peace.

Next to the starship, was a gas station so we could refuel with Sonic and Sarah's favorite, vanilla Dr. Pepper. Of course, it wouldn't be a Texas gas station without tacky postcards and coonskin hats.

When we finally made it to Waco, we picked up our Baylor Buddies Kim and Brooke. Then we had dinner at an amazing Mexican food restaurant, Rosa's!!! Brooke had an extra taco and almost forgot it inside. Just before we left, she remembered, and raced inside to rescue it!!! Whew!

The next morning we had breakfast in College Station, TX at Blue Baker. Leilani really appreciated that cup of coffee as we began the last half of the trip to the wedding.

Along the road we came upon another fun gas station called the "Whoop Stop". Our two Aggies just had to get a picture in front of the bonfire. Gig 'em girls!

Howdy Kim! How cute is she?

Then Leilani got to sign their wall of Texas A&M graduates!

We head back out on the road and saw some beautiful Texas countryside along the way...

We arrived in San Marcos a little early so we checked out their funky town square. We went inside two fun vintage clothing shops stuffed to the brim with polyester pants and flower power shirts.

Wedding time! What a beautiful church!

Here comes the bride. Lizzy could not have looked more beautiful...her face just glowed with happiness as she said "I Do" to her new husband.

The reception was held in a quaint dance hall. The atmosphere was so warm and loving.

Lizzy and Dalton's first dance.

One of us is married??? We are really growing up, huh?

After the wedding, we made our way back home. Along the way we jammed to some "krunk music" (haha..kim!) trying to stay awake. Leilani did a great job driving over 600 miles!!! I can't wait for our next road trip! Hopefully our newlywed and other awesome friend, Kali, will be able to come next time!!!

Beautiful Blogger Award

I received this blog award from the amazing blog Roseberry Style. She also sells the most adorable doodle accessories ever on Etsy.

Following in her footsteps, I am supposed to share seven facts about myself and then pass this award along to seven beautiful blogs!!

Seven Things About Me!

1. I love to cook! My most recent kitchen experiments have been homemade gnocchi and popovers!! They were both delicious!!! Here are the popovers:

2. I am freakishly tall and I am reminded of this daily from complete strangers....it gets annoying.

3. My favorite sport is tennis.

4. I wish i lived inside Anthropologie. I mean....who wouldn't?
Rosette Quilt from Anthropologie
5. I am addicted to cappuccinos. I try to get, and take a picture of, a cappuccino from every town I visit. My favorite so far was this one from Joe the Art of Coffee in NYC. How pretty is that? That barista has skills....

6. I faint at the sight of blood. Even fake blood, like on Grey's Anatomy, makes me woozy. What a shame.

7. Last, but not least, I love my family and my friends. They are there for me no matter what and I wouldn't know what to do without them!

Ok so I now officially, with all of my official power as a blogger, hereby grant this award to the following b-e-a-utiful blogs!

I won't be updating the blog for a few days because I will be traveling to a friend's wedding! Please visit these blogs and leave your comments here! I love them so much! :-)

Knitting in Vogue

Check out that stack of magazines! All together they weigh 11 pounds! Each one is weighted down with amazingness... All of my favorite's have officially released their coveted September issues! I am so happy! Along with my love for knitting, I LOOOOVE magazines. I could spend hours reading the articles and "oohing" and "ahhing" over the beautiful pictures. Vogue is my absolute favorite, and this year's September issue simply stunned me by putting my two favorite things, knitting and magazines, into one beautiful editorial.

"Sweater Girl" showcases some of the most incredible (and financially unattainable) sweaters, cardigans, and pullovers I have ever seen. These two are my absolute favorite. I love the blue and intricate cable design in the first one, and the pink one, well, she is definitely having a Mad Men moment.

Also, in the August issue of Teen Vogue, these wonderful Prada knit headbands were featured throughout their back to school fashion spread. At $110, these headband are a bit out of my price range...but maybe I can come up with my own more affordable design!

What are some of your favorite "knit" trends that your are seeing this fall? I love reading your comments!
(Sorry if the pics were a bit dark today, it is rainy and cloudy outside, but thankfully the temperature has dropped!)

Fall Treasury

Check out my new fall treasury! If you haven't noticed by the theme of my posting, I CAN'T WAIT FOR FALL. I'm sick of frizzy hair and feeling like I need to shower the minute I step outside. I want to see pretty orange leaves falling to the ground, feel the cool wind as I walk to class, and sip hot tea. Oh well, there is nothing I can do but wait. For now I will just enjoy creating lovely treasuries like this one and designing new fall and winter items for Etsy! I recently posted the following items:

Knit iPhone case :
and....

a Knit Headband (Brown Tweed with a Burgundy Bow) :

Well, classes start up again tomorrow...ugh. But thankfully the start of school means cooler weather is just around the corner...
