Anyway, it was really good. I only got one piece because my dad practically hogged the whole cake! That's ok. I like baking for others. It's like knitting in a way. I have to put together all of the ingredients (yarn), follow the directions (pattern) and then give it to someone I love! I'm not saying that my dad would eat a scarf or anything like that. Ha! Baking is just one of my favorite ways to show my family how much I love them.
If I could bake them a thousand cakes, I definitely would. :)
We also enjoyed a delicious brunch, watched one of my favorite musicals, Easter Parade, (Fred Astaire is so amazing), I worked on a fun new crochet project, and we just enjoyed each other's company. Definitely the makings of a good holiday weekend in my book!
I hope yours was just as wonderful. Care to share any of your weekend?

Beautiful post, both the cake and the baking for family. :)
ReplyDeleteI was actually just thinking about chocolate cake, because I ate a little for breakfast this morning, HA! (Don't tell anyone.) It wasn't Earl Grey, though, that sounds really neat. But chocolate cake is the breakfast of champions. Champions like Bill Cosby. ;)
Thanks April!
DeleteI can't think of a better way to start a Monday than with chocolate cake. :)
That cake looks DELICIOUS! Sounds like it turned out really yummy. I'm glad you had a lovely weekend, it sounds like you enjoyed relaxing a little bit! Now to get together the chocolate and earl grey...!xo
ReplyDeleteI think Bundt cakes are the prettiest. I jus made one for the first time a few weeks ago http://www.esthermcarrera.blogspot.com/2012/03/olive-oil-lime-cake.html which is kind of funny seeing I'm going to school to be a pastry chef. When I was deciding which kind to make I debated about making an earl gray one too! I have been using likes of tea to infuse flavor in to my desserts. It's so much fun. You should try to make early gray pastry cream. It's delicious.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
xo
Mmm your bundt cake looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
DeleteEarl grey pastry cream sounds too good to be true. :)
That cake looks so pretty, definitely going to put it on the list to attempt to make myself! That teapot is adorable too! Glad you've had a good weekend, mine has been a good one too...given my blog an overhaul and did a DIY blog planner!

You have a lovely blog! Katie x
Thanks so much Katie! That sounds like a great weekend.
DeleteI love how giving you are with the things you create! And your Easter sounds so lovely. Ours was spent with lots of church friends - the kinds of friends who feel like family and can come over with no notice and I'll still be totally excited to see them! I love those kinds of friends :)
ReplyDeleteAw thank you Naomi. Your Easter sounds perfect! Those are definitely the best kind of friends.
DeleteMmmm.... I might have to make this. Earl Grey and chocolate are two of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI might have to attempt that cake myself - it looks so fluffy and moist.
ReplyDeleteOur holiday was low-key because Pokey had to work, something he wasn't thrilled about because it was going to be so slow. Hobbit got up early, like you'd think it was Christmas early, to see what the Easter Bunny had left her. Since we were all up at 4:30 a.m. (told you), we just had a nice little breakfast and then rest of the day was spent just me and Hobbit. We watched movies and she rode her bike which resulted in her first crash and scraped knee so we watched another movie and had supper. Pokey got home in time for tucks and then he enjoyed some time on his computer while I watched a movie with my eyes closed... lol.
All in all, we had a nice last day of our Spring Break.
Wow that is early! I'm glad you enjoyed the day with your family though!
DeleteI haven't seen Easter Parade in so long!
ReplyDeleteThat cake looks scrumptious! It's so gratifying to see food disappear like that. Though perhaps you should hide yourself an extra slice next time! ;)
This is beautiful, I'm having some girlfriends over for tea tomorrow and will be making this. <3
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so good! I love earl grey tea, so I'm going to have to give this a try.
ReplyDeleteI just used the same recipe, but to make cupcakes. I made some cream cheese frosting to go with it and it was delicious! Definitely going to do it again :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love cream cheese frosting! Such a good idea!
DeleteGreat post,I really like your article
ReplyDeleteGood golly, that cake looks flawless and contains two of my favorite things: earl grey and chocolate! MUST try baking this!
ReplyDeleteI watched Easter Parade as well! It's my tradition for Easter, other than chocolate in small amounts ^_~
ReplyDeleteI love bundt cakes and earl grey and I bet it is a great combo! I also love your tea pot!
ReplyDeleteEaster Parade used to be one of my favorite movies growing up, but I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I'll definitely have to watch it again soon.
That looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteOk, this looks amazing! Thank you for sharing. Looks like you had a lovely weekend. Xo
ReplyDeleteOh don't tempt me with chocolate cake posts! I am eating healthy now! (or trying) haha, looks delicious! :)
