And so it begins. Almost three years later, I've decided to pick up where I left off on the Heartigan Cardigan (best name ever) and see how it goes. I would hate to waste a perfectly nice half-a-sweater and that big ball of yarn. Hopefully I won't let three years go by again before I finish, but we'll see. I mean, I made the fawncho. I should be able to finish this too! I knit the last few rows of the cardigan body the other night and cast on the first sleeve yesterday. I think this sweater is going to be worth the wait. It has heart-shaped elbow patches and everything!
I still really want to start a new crochet blanket, some knit socks, and the Princess Diana sheep sweater...and...uh oh. I'm getting distracted again. This sweater could take awhile.
What unfinished projects do you have sitting around the house? Have you started anything new lately?

I can't wait to see the result! I'm in love with your work Meredith!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Hopefully I will be able to share the finished sweater soon. :)
DeleteOh, and I'm knitting a pair of socks as a christmas present for my mom :)
DeleteThat sweater is SO CUTE! Oh my goodness, I have no idea how you have enough patience to finish an entire sweater. I would have definitely put it aside and probably never come back to it because there are so many other projects I'm dying to make. At least you're finally coming back to it! I'm so excited to see how this one turns out! And oh my gosh, if you made that Princess Diana sheep sweater, I would just die. That is so cool! Well, good luck with this one :)

Thank you so much Jessica! :)
DeleteUfo ? What did you mean ? I don't know knitter with Ufo with Ravelry :)
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! This design is super cute, too!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog today - I love it!!! The big project I'm working on now is a knitted blanket. It's going to take foreverrrrr :/ I am easily distracted by other projects as well, AND I've just taken up embroidery.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. When I started embroidering my long project list got even longer!
DeleteMy cardigan is finished, I just need to photograph it and post it on my blog. Next Im making a sheep jumper I designed myself Eek!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your finished Jumper Meredith!!

That is so awesome Emma!
DeleteI currently have two scarves and one embroidery in the works! I've also been eyeing those crochet flower blankets... must resist! But seriously your sweater is going to be the cutest!

I'm sure it'll look fantastic when done - I love things with elbow patches (or anything similar) on them!
ReplyDeletehehe I did the same as you! I just finished the edging of a blanket I practically finished last winter, and am already well underway starting a new one. I have so many things I want to start, but not enough hours in the day :P

I love the tweedy yarn! Is it cascade? I've made it a priority to try and finish old WIPs, but I have years built up and it's tough, plus new projects are just so much fun. I recently started a blanket, and it's amazing. I'm absolutely in love with it. The pattern is by Woolly Thoughts, who make knitting patterns based on math, and it's all really interesting (even though I'm awful at math, I'm pretty good at knitting so it all evens out). I've begun an obsession with knitting and crocheting blankets, and if you haven't made one yet I highly recommend it!
ReplyDeleteYes it is Cascade! The blanket project you are working on sounds really cool. I made a crochet afghan several years ago and I loved working on it. I really want to start on a new one soon!
DeleteIt's lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'm crocheting 10 amigurumi angels, ordered by a colleage. The fun of making something new was gone after the third, and now I have to force myself to finish the job... Somewhere along I also finished a scarf, because I needed something else to do, so this job makes me finish older ones, might be a tip? ;)
That is a great tip. It can get a little boring making the same thing over and over again. I like to mix things up and try something new (when I can) too. :)
DeleteYou should finish it, it looks so cute! (Makes me wish I could knit!)
ReplyDeleteI have lot's of UFO's lying around, mostly sewing projects I cut out a couple of years ago and never got around putting them together. Thinking about it makes my kinda sad, all that pretty fabric.. What I want to make right now is a new Meringue skirt, it's so cute! ^-^
This is so incredibly adorable, I wish it was in my closet, half finished or not!

Aw! Thank you so much!
DeleteOh that cardigan is lovely! Should put that into my ever growing monster called ravelry queue. heh :) Right now I am knitting a cardigan for my 6 month old nephew.

That sweater will be so beautiful! I took a peak at your Fawn-cho ... How cute is that?! Very.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable (soon-to-be) sweater! :) I love the elbow patches!!
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I put 'finish all my UFOs' on my goals list for this year and I finished a lace scarf I started last year in June... it was rather painful to motivate myself to keep going (it took forever) but I love the finished scarf and wore it almost every day for the past three weeks :)
That is an excellent goal! I'm glad you are enjoying your finished scarf too. :)
DeleteI'm working on sport socks for my boyfriend right now. :) I started them a year ago and after knitting the first one too short and then too long, I ran out of steam last year. But last week I started again, so hopefully he will be able to wear them at a matchday this season. :)
ReplyDeleteWish you a wonderful weekend! :)
I just adore it! I'm having loads of unfinished projects, such as winter socks, coasters and a scarf (which it's really just 5 minutes knitting to finish it, so no excuses I guess).
ReplyDeleteI'd love to knit this sweater though, would you be willing to share the pattern maybe? I live in Belgium, so most likely we'd never go through that ackward moment when 2 persons are wearing similar clothes ;)
Thanks, obrigada :)

I just asked to my mum to make one sweater like that for me! ;) I have started a dress...after I didn't had time because I was going to vacation, but I wanted to use it! :( So I made a shirt!
ReplyDeleteit's going to look awesome when it's finished! I'm in the process of making two quilts - both in different stages of completion AND i've started my first ever knitting project, it's only a scarf but I really want to finish it before the winter, knitting is so relaxing X
ReplyDeleteLove the heart elbows! I think it will be worth the wait!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I'm not the only one that takes years to finish things! Haha! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhen my mom first taught me to knit she said I should NEVER EVER EVER start a new project before finishing an old one. I followed that rule for a while but I'm a multi-project kind of gal. With older projects I worry my gauge has changed.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater looks like it will be way cozy when it's done, though! I totally have a few scarves on the needles but that's about it. I've been pretty good about finishing projects lately.
ReplyDeletelovelovelove!
ReplyDeleteI have about 6 unfinished projects laying around in my bedroom. But since my boyfriends sister wanted a couple of knitted socks I decided to finish all my projects and make a pair for her. And a comment made by her mother- 'well you will only get one sock since she never finish two' I got a little angry and have been 'mad' knitting like crazy since then.
ReplyDeleteKnitting while being angry also works as a fast knitting technique^^
Oh, i like your sweater! Sweaters are so much fun to knit! I'm now knitting a Mellow Sweater from Pickles for myself. The yarn is so incredibly soft.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so cute! I'm currently trying to get to grips with knitting sweaters in the round so at the moment I'm doing Stefanie Japel's Boho Blouse from Glam Knits and Pam Allen's Fiona Pullover from Quince & Co! x
