I always run out of time to make everyone on my list something handmade for the holidays. Even though I can't give everyone a hand-knit scarf for Christmas, I do try to incorporate special touches with the packaging like handmade cards and tags that can sometimes be used as an extra gift! The projects will include knitting, crochet, and embroidery, but many of the techniques don't require any sort of hook or needle.
The series will begin on November 26 and run through the first few weeks of December. I'm excited to share the projects and hopefully it will help you add a festive touch of yarn to your gifts this year. I think even the smallest handmade gesture is a great way to show your love. :)
Surprisingly I haven't started listening to Christmas music while working on these projects. I usually wait until after Thanksgiving but I can only hold out for so long. I might need to dust off my records soon so I can finish these up!
Are you making a lot of gifts this year? I'd love to know what you are creating.

These all look so cute! I can't wait! You creativeness always amazes me.
ReplyDeleteIn my ravelryqueue are some cabled mitts waiting to be started for christmasgifts for friends. I should have already started to finish every project in time so wish me luck.

Oh, how exciting! I recently found your blog and I have to tell you that you're making me want to knit properly. I'm perpetually attempting a project, but now I'm determined to knit something and finish it. I found a pattern on Ravelry and I'm going with it. I really love reading your blog, and I know you'll keep me inspired to finish the project! Thank you!

ReplyDeleteWhaaa! This series looks like it will be amazing! I'm such a fan of all things chilly and Christmas-y so I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI really want to do handmade gifts this Christmas, so it'll be nice to get some new ideas. I knitted my boyfriend a scarf and my best friend a cowl last year and they really loved them. I'm thinking this year I'll hunt down a really cool pattern for slipper socks on the knifty knitter for the boyfriend and not sure for my best friend. I also want to make my mom a scarf; she's always stealing mine! ;)
oooo so excited to see! i'm working on some plushie blocks with ribbons for a soon-to-arrive neice, that is, if i ever get around to them. absolutely cannot wait to see your projects!
ReplyDeleteI love this sneak peak! Everything looks so lovely and I can't wait to see everything for real! :)

Wow, everything looks great! The crocheted candy mints are my favorite! I cannot wait for the series to start! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to see your gift ideas! I'm knitting hats this year for my sister, mom, and dad. I may attempt mittens if I find myself bored in chapel and class during the last weeks of the semester :)
ReplyDeleteI'm knitting a lot of gifts this year. For one of my sisters I made a stuffed knitted hedgehog and a tiny (used size 0 needles) doll washcloth. She's 22 and still plays with dolls...she's the coolest. :) For another sister I made these gloves: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/abra-alba-wrist-warmers and for yet another sister I'm making this tote bag with Shakespeare on it: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/poster-boy
ReplyDeleteI'm also making a linen quilt for my mom and some legwarmers and hats for various nieces and nevvies. I'm not as crazy as I sound. I've been working on these things for awhile now. :)
I can't wait to see your series!
