A Crochet Cozy for My Planner

To my surprise, this week's Blush List wish for a snow day actually came true! Yesterday morning I woke up to white snow glowing outside my window. I could hardly believe it! What are the chances? Haha. I stayed inside most of the day because I wasn't feeling so well, but used the snow day as an excuse to cover my 2013 planner in crochet.

I love my calendar, but the cover is relatively plain. I decided to make a crochet cozy for it and dress it up a little. I added the pocket to make it more functional and keep pens, sticky notes, and highlighters tucked inside. I love how it turned out! A fun planner will definitely keep me motivated to stay organized this year. I am thinking about sharing this pattern in my shop soon if you are interested. It would include how to size it for your specific planner.

I've said it before, but soon enough everything I own will have it's own sweater. :)

Do you use a planner to stay organized?

  1. I have a great planner this year that is cute and totally keeping me organized better than others have. Its called "today is day one" by orange circle studio and it's divine

  2. I love the idea of an on-paper organiser/planner, but in real life find it too impractical because I just can't carry it around with me everywhere! I use Asana instead - it's an online to do list/calendar/project list that also syncs to my phone with an app. It works really well, but unfortunately, I can't make it cute like you've done with your planner! ; )

  3. I love planners, I have way too many that I pick up over the year, searching for "the right one" haha
    Love the planner cozie!

  4. I love having a physical diary planner, even though it can be tricky to have it on me all the time. it's worth it though so you can have cute sticky notes & stickers, use differed coloured pens and make it look pretty... you can never have that with a phone calendar.

  5. I always find I buy the planner, and then forget to take it with me anywhere! I write things on post-its and end up losing them! Maybe if I crocheted a cute sweater for my planner I would be more inclined to use it. Any excuse will do! :) I love the shell edging on the pocket. Very cute.

  7. Oh this is perfect! I just started writing in a notebook but it has an ugly blah front cover, so I'm totally going to do this. Thanks for the inspiration meredith!

  9. Cool planner but what color is your nail varnish?!?! It looks like royal blue glitter?! Or texturized? Dig it.

    1. Thank you Amanda! It is actually two colors. The base color is Essie "mezmerised" and the glitter is Ulta "Indigo-go girl". :)

  12. That is so cute! I should try that out on my planner! Having the same planner for an entire year gets a little boing, but that looks like the perfect thing to make it fun again! Yours looks so adorable, so hopefully if I try it out mine looks cute too!

  14. I actually JUST bought one. It's really cute but it's big. I know i like to write large when i'm thinking so I got a large one. Probably impractical for something like your cozy, because of the spiral binding. but i do need a pocket for it...

  17. How adorable! Very neat idea to add some character to one's planner. Don't know what I would do without planners, but I usually end up drawing on mine instead of dressing them up. Will have to look into this for another time. Thanks for sharing! :)

  20. When I was in school, I lived and died by my planner. After I graduated I made a huge deal about buying one, made a huge deal about having to wait until the new year to use it, and then never used it... go figure. We haven't had any real snowstorms in Colorado this year and although I hate the cold, part of me just wants it to dump before spring comes.
