This week flew by in a flash! I woke up this morning thinking today was Thursday. I am so happy that I was wrong. I have a few upcoming projects to finish over the next few days. Hopefully I will have some time to spare for a baking adventure I have always wanted to try. Here's what I have planned this weekend...
- I need to print out some of Ello Lovey's Valentine's Day cards and drop them off at the post office. I wrapped one of my crochet hearts around a card and gave it to my friend at lunch yesterday. She loved it!
- Thank you so much for the amazing response to my Sheepish Heart Bomb announcement yesterday! I can't wait to see how many people participate. I hope little hearts are shared all over the world. I plan on finishing up my knit yarn bomb and crocheting a few extra hearts to hang around town on Valentine's Day.
- Even though they look intimidating, I have always wanted to bake my own batch of macarons. I found this Martha Stewart raspberry macaron recipe and it looks like a good starting point for a beginner. I like that the filling is pre-made raspberry jam. Instead of worrying about the filling, I can focus on perfecting the temperamental macaron shells. Hopefully I will get some good macaron "feet". :)
- I discovered the lovely Betty Magazine a few weeks ago and decided to order a copy. Betty is a beautiful fashion and lifestyle magazine based in London. It arrived in the mail yesterday afternoon and I can't wait to flip through the inspiring pages over the weekend.
That's about it! I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend.
What do you have planned? Are you working on any special Valentine's Day crafts? Have you started making hearts for the Sheepish Heart Bomb next week?

I'm dying to try macarons, too! I picked up a kit on the giveaway table at work and still haven't managed to go and get all the ingredients. Can't wait to see how yours turn out!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to give it a try! I hope you have a great weekend Ashley. :)
DeleteI've been debating making macaroons too, but haven't yet been brave enough. I did make marshmallows, caramels and gummy candies though! I'm hoping to make some American Horror Story inspired body parts in jars - like the ones they show in the basement in the opening scene - and also make some under eye cream, a hair mask, some solid salt scrub cubes and natural deodorant.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try to make caramels and marshmallows too. All of your upcoming creations sound really fun! Enjoy!
DeleteI've tried making macaroons once before and I did not do well. They tasted amazing (vanilla bean with nutella filling) but I need to work on my presentation! Good luck and have a super weekend :)

Macaroons terrify me, you are one brave girl! On the Great British Bake Off (best show ever) they often have meltdowns over those pastel fiends!
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited about the first artisan market of the year on Sunday, we are having a Chinese New Year celebration theme which should be fun. Have a great weekend :)

I really like it!
DeleteWell, as usual, I will have to deal with my university classes on saturday morning, before going to work on the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteBut I try to enjoy my sundays as much as possible.
I'm planning to plant some seeds, take pictures outside, bake some bread, go to the farmer's market, knit a bit, and relax.
Have a lovely week-end Meredith,
Melody
I hope you had some time to relax this weekend Melody. :)
DeleteGood luck with your university classes!
I can't get enough of your weekend plan photos! I'm going to be doing a little woolly love bombing, and plenty of reading by the fire on this grey day.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It sounds like you had a lovely weekend.
DeleteLooks like a lovely weekend, I've been to a big craft exhibition today with my mum which was both lovely and odd.
ReplyDeleteI really like the way you display your activities

So happy to find your blog today and be a new follower! Love the heart bombing...off to learn to crochet so I can bomb the elementary school! (that didn't sound quite right did it?) ;)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the macarons. I really want to try making them, but they terrify me, so my house mate who lived in Paris for a while has said she will give me master class some time soon.
ReplyDeleteI am severely tempted to do a bit of heart yarn bombing, even if it is just around my own house! Here's hoping I get enough time to make some of your little hearts. Thanks for the pattern!
Alex
You're welcome! I hope you give it a try. :)
DeleteI'm so happy your friend loved the card! What a sweet touch to add a crochet heart! I plan on crocheting up some more today to spread around on Valentine's Day! So fun! I hope the macarons turn out well for you! I wanted to make them as favors for our wedding, but the heat in Texas summers, as you know, is no friend for macaron baking! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I can't wait to see your crochet hearts.
DeleteI know! I don't think I will have much success if I try to bake a batch of macarons this summer.
That sounds like a lovely weekend! Hope your Macarons turned out ok!
