Also, you can find the tutorial for crocheting edges on a handkerchief in Issue 19. I found these vintage hankies a few months ago and I love the look of the crochet edge. I plan on adding edges to a couple more in my collection and displaying them on the wall. Also, with the addition of an embroidered initial, this crochet edge hankie would make a great mother's day gift!
How are your projects coming along? I found more yarn for my giant granny square blanket yesterday afternoon and I am excited to get back to working on it tonight!

I think it is really neat that you have so many fun ideas to contribute to Gathered. It's got to feel good to have an outlet for all that creativity.
ReplyDeleteThis week all my projects are tedious behind the scenes stuff for my upcoming knitting book. It will be a huge load off of my shoulders once it is all done.
Thank you Audry!
DeleteCongratulations on your knitting book! All of your hard work will be worth it. :)
I love these :) I used a single crocheted facecloth made with merino wool and it's so nice :) I just recently learnt to knit - it's a process! Your knitting so lovely and neat :D

ReplyDeletemy projects are coming along terribly :( I'm in that bad cycle where I am working very hard, so that when I get home I'm too tired to do anything useful in my free time! Suppose I'll just watch Arrested Development for the nth time... xx
Thank you Emily!
DeleteI hope you have some time to relax. I have never watched Arrested Development! I need to check it out soon. :)
These look like fun small projects you can whip in a afternoon! fun!

ReplyDeleteThe green is very Spring, lovely
ReplyDeleteHow do you knit? Right hand holding the needle under or over? Slide the hand up to y.o or take it off completely? I'm experimenting with different techniques at the moment.
The crocheted edge on the hanky is a really lovely touch.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful handkerchiefs! I especially adore the one on the right :-)
